It is suggested that sickness in pregnancy can affect up to 80% of pregnant women!
Dr Owen,:consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist: “The actual causes of nausea or vomiting are still not known. It is probably brought about by hormonal changes taking place, or by an imbalance in blood sugar.”
However you might be sick or nauseous for entirely different reasons to your pregnancy, so if you experience any of the following please do check in with your doctor:
And I’m sure that you will be doing all the right things, which could cause you sickness, such as:
We do have a heightened sense of smell and taste during pregnancy, that is the amazing intelligence of the body, smell and taste becomes heightened to alert us very quickly to substance that could be toxic to us.
You can stop being sick, feeling ill and unwell during your pregnancy.
You can enjoy your entire pregnancy with a feeling of health and joy.
More than twenty years ago I became really curious about sickness in pregnancy. A doctor of medicine, working in obstetrics and gynecology at a Manchester hospital told me some very interesting stories of pregnant ladies.
Basically it was emerging that any lady he was working with during her pregnancy and during the birth of her baby, who had, lets say recent ethnic origins, always had healthy pregnancies and ease of birth.
This led me to search for information about indigenous women, who would have to be and stay well, during pregnancy, as they were needed to remain an active member of their community.
I read stories of women, who, only several hours after giving birth would be back helping in the ‘fields’.
I promise you this is not me having a blinkered idealistic view of pregnancy and birth, but true stories.
So what does this mean to us Westerners?
Of course our lives are more ‘toxic’ in many ways than those of the indigenous members of our race. We have ‘toxic’ ways of working, of smells, tastes, food and beliefs.
It is suggested that women who are prone to feel stressed will have sickness in their pregnancy.
My course teaches you to be calm no matter what is happening around you.
And when we are calm, the brain and mind can easily access solutions we need to handle stressful experiences.
I also have a belief that we ‘believe’ we might be unwell during pregnancy.
My Audio Therapy Course is very focused on changing beliefs that do not serve us, serve others, or celebrate life. Simplistically, negative beliefs and thoughts affect our bio chemistry – creating imbalances.
I do hope I resonate with you with some of these thoughts of mine.
I wish you health and happiness and a really comfortable pregnancy and a huge welcome to your baby.
"The first time I looked into Sally's work was to cure chronic morning sickness in my first pregnancy. I used a course of Sally's therapeutic CDs. My terrible constant nausea and sickness totally disappeared which was wonderful.
The great thing about the CDs were that they were accessible at any time of day.
I still use them today as a source of reassurance and relaxation when similar anxieties arise, seven years on!"
