Book Launch: If Life Gives You Lemons PART 3

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

So there you go – my book, “If Life Gives You Lemons…” will be available on Wednesday or Thursday of this week! Fantastic. Selected W H Smith’s shops, also, Amazon, ASDA and Waterstones online.

What is my book about? There a lots of “IF….” quotes from our great minds through history and present day, from our ‘treasure’ William Shakespeare, to the Dalai Lama, who is compassion personified to wisdom from Michael Jordon.

I have five categories of quotes to uplift your mood in moments for your mind and thoughts, for your ‘heart’, for your inner stability the ‘bones’ of who you are, for the expansiveness of your creativity and humour and fun, and for the purpose and permanence of your ‘soul’ of who you really are.

I have five tips for you to work with for these five aspects of yourself, my tips can take you ten minutes or so a day to practice and accomplish a wholesome inner happiness or contentment and optimism. And I have written some real life stories of really inspiring achievement. As you read these stories you will be able to identify with any ‘parallel’ problem you are dealing with and discover your own unique solutions.

I believe that every one of us, unless we are violating others, have a real right to happiness. And we can achieve it. How? By realising that it is mostly our thoughts and beliefs that are driving our feeling and then our behaviour. We need to know the simple truth we can change our thoughts and beliefs that are not supporting our state of happiness. We can change or resolve our feelings and our behaviours to ones that support our life, our happiness contentment and optimism.

So, let’s carry on with my Tips for you to achieve your Dream come True.

I mentioned to you last time I wrote to you that your mind and brain need to know your really deep inner purposes for you achieving your Dream. You may be asking: Why? I’ll explain. You may also be thinking: That’s ridiculous; I full well know my purpose!

Nearly our entire life and behaviours is unconsciously driven. If we give the mind a simple purpose to achieve our Dream, simple example: I want to make a lot of money, this is my dream. The mind is questioning and possibly holding us back with: What’s the purpose of making a lot of money? You may know: My purpose is to be successful, educate my children, and assist an important charity.

However – the unconscious mind is still questioning: What is my purpose in achieving these three things? So, my Tip is, keep on asking: what is my purpose from all your answers, one at a time.

You will come to deeper and deeper purposes and you will come to your own values around your Dream Coming True.

Knowing the true depths of your purposes will give you massive energy and drive to achieve.

Next time I want to talk with you about beliefs. Our unconscious beliefs powerfully drive or stagnate our behaviour.

Enjoy your discoveries for Your purpose to make Your Dream come True…..

Book Launch If Life Gives You Lemons PART 2

Saturday, March 12th, 2011

And so last summer I started to write “If Life Gives You Lemons…” Available on Amazon from this week.

What a journey of challenges and excitement and fulfilment and such a great sense of achievement in writing the book. I have huge gratitude for Gibson Square Books. Their support of me and their understanding of my work have been, and are, amazing. Thank you.

So my journey continued from being 18 years old when I started a course at the Manchester Royal Infirmary to become a nurse. My Dad, who is my hero, at the time told me I’d never make it as a nurse. I defied his advice! I lasted less than a year in my nursing career! For me personally I very quickly realised and accepted that my Passion lay in helping to resolve emotional, psychological and ‘spiritual’ suffering. Rather than physical suffering as such. Though I do now absolutely know that when the mind and ‘Heart’ are suffering – so is the body.

And to this day, every day I am still learning more and more about our amazing minds.

My first book, the one I wrote in Singapore? Well, I reckon I’ve had as many Rejections from publishers and agents as J. K. Rowling for Harry Potter and James Joyce for The Dubliners!! I could therefore say, perhaps I’m up there with the great writers! Keep on Dreaming everyone….. Believe in your own Dreams….. Don’t ever let anyone, whoever they are, trash your Dreams…… A Tip for you and your Dreams: If anyone is criticising your Dreams be gentle with yourself and also revisit the deeper purposes for your Dreams. Get the depths of clarity for what your want to achieve and experience from your Dream come true.

The purposes of my book? I’d love to talk with you about that on my next Blog in a couple of days.

Thank you for reading this.

Stop Smoking Day

Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

Good idea! Non smoking for a day! Or would you like non smoking for more than a day? For the rest of your life perhaps? A day – or a day at a time is a good way to do it, whatever you choice. Are you really up for it?

If your choice is, this is just one day to be a non smoker – how are you doing? I do hope that it is going well for you. If you are struggling in the least here is a great tip to help you have a really easy time with this.
First of all let me just say that all our behaviour has a purpose, whatever our behaviour.
So discover what is your real purpose in supporting this one No Smoking Day? Our purpose can be multilayered, here’s an example of what I mean by this: My purpose for not smoking today is to prove to myself that I can do it! The next layer could be: What is my purpose in proving to my self that I can do it? Well – if I can do this I will have more self confidence. Next layer: And what is my purpose in wanting more self confidence? I could then have confidence to go out and make some new friends!
See how this has moved from supporting this one no smoking day – to a deeper goal, making some new friends! The want or need for new friends will then really fuel our motivation to achieve this goal for this one day.

And if you want to carry on taking this a day at a time, then really get down to your purposes for doing that. Write them down there will several. Perhaps for you the most obvious purposes will come to you to begin with, Health, finance. There will be more purposes unique to you, keep searching like my example, for the depth of the layers ‘hidden’ within purpose.
Second tip – stop saying words to yourself like “I will stop smoking…” “I will never have another cigarette…” Why? Because your mind and brain are ‘hearing’ Smoking, cigarette and that will cause an enormous inner struggle for you, and suddenly you have to go to the garage and buy a pack of cigarettes and smoke three at a time!
So, What can you say to yourself? Find your own words, but something like: I want and chose to have a really healthy body. I want to save those hundreds of pounds this year. I will use the money for something really special. Then make pictures in your mind of your health improving, and also make pictures of that something really special that your extra cash can achieve for you. Enjoy your health and enjoy affording that something special….. Enjoy achieving all your other unique purposes….

Book Launch If Life Gives You Lemons

Tuesday, March 8th, 2011

And so my dream comes true my first book “If Life Gives You Lemons…” will be published this month and available to buy from Amazon on the 17th of March

This is so great to be speaking to you. Thank you…..

My Dads family are from the South of Ireland. They are a sentimental, loving, contrary, quirky – happy family of story tellers. Stories, about all and everything, abounded when I was little. I always wrote, filling tiny note books and scraps of paper, kept safe under my pillow, in my school bag in a drawer in my room, secure under my untidy stuff. I was never invited to speak them; this was for the adults to do.

In January 1997, living in Singapore, I started to write my first book. It came to me in an extraordinary Epiphany in a dream, that I must write a book. I can tell you about the dream some time if you’d be interested? Let me know if you’re interested on my Face Book page from the website.

It took me two years to write my first book whilst we were in Singapore. I started to find my voice. And my voice is the voice of the eighteen year old me, that part of me made a very clear decision that I want to stop emotional suffering. I believed and still do clearly believe that we all have a right to happiness.

I will continue my story on my next Blog in a few days…..
