Using hypnotherapy to ditch your demons

A very warm welcome, and thanks for reading……..

Have we really given serious thought as to exactly ‘where’ our ‘demons’ come from? And then, our next question needs to be ‘what’ exactly are our demons?

These two questions, I warn you, are my special Soap Box, so I make no apologies for being controversial! Controversial is great in my book, because when we think differently from the usual, we get unusual results!

Let’s just consider the second question, just briefly first, (and in more detail later): What are our ‘demons’?
Our ‘demons’ are the thoughts, beliefs and feelings we have that ‘freeze’ us, that stop us ‘dead in our tracks’ that create destruction in the quality of and the celebration of our life.
Thoughts, beliefs and feelings such as fear, nervousness, panic, anger, fury, self doubt, lack of self worth…… exhaustion…… Our list can go on and on……..

So, where do these debilitating, destructive thoughts, beliefs and feelings come from? Well, before we consider the answer to this question, let’s, first of all, ditch our blame culture! Let’s stop blaming our parents, siblings, education, bad relationships, the government, the weather……….
Just go along with me here, and take our first step on a vitally important journey to ‘ditch’ the demons by owning them! By owning them we can then resolve them. They, the demons, come from our own unconscious. If you think about this for a few minutes, it makes sense. You see we do not consciously want to live in dread, thinking and feeling nervous, scared, fearful, tired of it all, hopeless.
Basically we all consciously want to feel and think and be up-beat, optimistic, happy!

OK, our demons reside in our unconscious mind and my speciality, my absolute passion, for the past thirty years has been to devote myself to learning the language, and the ability, to communicate elegantly and successfully with our unconscious mind.
And that basically is what hypnotherapy does – communicates in the language of the unconscious.

Some hypnotherapists today still generally believe that we can say, state, suggest, demand: ‘Demons leave!’ as if speaking to an uninvited, unwelcome visitor in our home! I know this unfortunately isn’t true.
If this type of communication worked to ditch our demons, our best friend or our hairdresser could do this for us, and I’d be out of a job! You know, I wouldn’t mind at all being out of a job, because that would mean we could all of us celebrate our life with a sense of optimism, hope for our future and happiness.
Behind every face we see there are worlds within worlds within worlds of the unconscious mind, and within those worlds reside our demons. We can ‘ditch’ them all when we learn to communicate with them, which may sound to you totally counter intuitive! Let me tell you more about my own special method of hypnosis, which truly does work, next time.

Thanks for listening.

Thinking of you fondly – Sally.

Freedom to be Our Self ?

Using hypnosis to help you break free

Using hypnosis to help you break free

So, what exactly are we discussing together? What do I mean by Freedom to be our self? Freedom to be Happy in ‘our own skin’? Freedom to grow in our unique potential?

And what stops us from being and experiencing and enjoying these Freedoms?

We cannot be Free to fully be our self when we get ‘stuck’. The ‘stuck’ experiences in our minds, in our psychology, are literally that, we are ‘stuck’ we don’t move, we don’t move forward and we don’t ‘grow’!

Why would we be so daft as to get ‘stuck’, you might well ask? Well, for one thing we are not being daft; we are attempting to protect our self, in a crisis or in a trauma, from the next moment getting even worse.
Bottom line? As long as we are ‘stuck’ in that particularly moment and even though it’s horrific, we’re in ‘the firing line’, the ‘bombing’ is happening all around us, we are terrified, but at least we are alive.
We stop time in our mind in case, in the very next moment the ‘bomb’ blows us completely away. Consequently, getting our self ‘stuck’ makes total sense to our unconscious protective mechanisms.

Of course, you could be saying: “Sally, I’ve never been in the ‘firing line’, I’ve never been in a ‘bombing raid’ in my life….. My life has been really peaceful.”
I am so glad you haven’t. I’m so glad you have had a peaceful life.
I have been in the ‘firing line’! That’s one of the reasons I’m so brilliant at, and proud of, what I do and what I achieve for others.
So, you may be like the young lady who came up to me at the Vitality Show after I’d been speaking about this kind of Freedom. She said, (what you are maybe thinking about your life,) that her entire life had been ‘peaceful’
But, she told me that she was a chronic worrier.

As we talked she gained the insights that she had learnt to worry as a little girl because her mother was and still is a worrier.
You too may have got ‘stuck’ with learnt experiences, like worrying, that do not serve you or celebrate fully your life’s expression and experience.

The feeling of being ‘stuck’ is the opposite of freedom to be our self and to be happy and grow in our own unique potential.  Hypnosis sets you free! So, what are you waiting for?

Thinking of you warmly………

Stop Smoking Day

Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

Good idea! Non smoking for a day! Or would you like non smoking for more than a day? For the rest of your life perhaps? A day – or a day at a time is a good way to do it, whatever you choice. Are you really up for it?

If your choice is, this is just one day to be a non smoker – how are you doing? I do hope that it is going well for you. If you are struggling in the least here is a great tip to help you have a really easy time with this.
First of all let me just say that all our behaviour has a purpose, whatever our behaviour.
So discover what is your real purpose in supporting this one No Smoking Day? Our purpose can be multilayered, here’s an example of what I mean by this: My purpose for not smoking today is to prove to myself that I can do it! The next layer could be: What is my purpose in proving to my self that I can do it? Well – if I can do this I will have more self confidence. Next layer: And what is my purpose in wanting more self confidence? I could then have confidence to go out and make some new friends!
See how this has moved from supporting this one no smoking day – to a deeper goal, making some new friends! The want or need for new friends will then really fuel our motivation to achieve this goal for this one day.

And if you want to carry on taking this a day at a time, then really get down to your purposes for doing that. Write them down there will several. Perhaps for you the most obvious purposes will come to you to begin with, Health, finance. There will be more purposes unique to you, keep searching like my example, for the depth of the layers ‘hidden’ within purpose.
Second tip – stop saying words to yourself like “I will stop smoking…” “I will never have another cigarette…” Why? Because your mind and brain are ‘hearing’ Smoking, cigarette and that will cause an enormous inner struggle for you, and suddenly you have to go to the garage and buy a pack of cigarettes and smoke three at a time!
So, What can you say to yourself? Find your own words, but something like: I want and chose to have a really healthy body. I want to save those hundreds of pounds this year. I will use the money for something really special. Then make pictures in your mind of your health improving, and also make pictures of that something really special that your extra cash can achieve for you. Enjoy your health and enjoy affording that something special….. Enjoy achieving all your other unique purposes….
